About Rosemary
Rosemary Wilson is a senior communications counselor and crisis advisor to corporate clients and high-profile individuals on a diverse range of brand and reputation matters. Rosemary’s experience includes building and managing her clients’ reputations, as well as planning for and managing through high-stakes situations and disruptive events.
Prior to founding her business, Rosemary Wilson LLC, Rosemary was an executive at Smith & Company whose founder was the inspiration for the hit TV show “Scandal.” At Smith & Company, Rosemary worked with the firm’s most elite clients and led the firm’s initiatives on the West Coast.
Before Smith & Company, Rosemary served in a senior-level role at the Abernathy MacGregor Group where she ran many of the firm’s largest corporate accounts with a focus on working to mitigate, manage, and repair reputational issues and crises.
During her career, Rosemary has advised Boards and the C-suite at Fortune 500 companies, non-profits, talent agencies, and professional services firms. Rosemary’s corporate crisis experience includes work on sensitive management transitions, labor and employment issues, cyber-security breaches, product recalls, operational disasters, disease outbreaks, terrorist attacks, highly public corporate disputes, and media investigations. Her litigation support experience includes allegations of discrimination, large class-action lawsuits, criminal charges, and regulatory investigations, as well as other high-profile civil litigation. She also has provided transaction communications support for a number of mergers and acquisitions.
Additionally, Rosemary has worked with some of the world’s most prominent individuals, including executives, celebrities, and producers and showrunners, among others, as they navigate through contentious divorces, management transitions, public allegations, and other personal issues under the public spotlight.
Early in her career, Rosemary worked at Citigate Cunningham, where her technology communications work won several top industry awards, and at Mervyns, a former subsidiary of Target Corporation, where she developed and executed public relations campaigns and special events. Rosemary graduated magna cum laude from Santa Clara University with a bachelor’s in communications.

Provided strategic advice and counsel for a Fortune 10 company and its top executive on reputational matters related to business and personal life, accompanying the executive at high-profile public events to manage exposure and mitigate issues.
Worked for a national, corporate food chain counseling on issues related to the pandemic, food borne illness, shootings, alleged discrimination, workplace issues, and more to successfully de-escalate issues before rising to crisis level, keeping the brand and its executives’ reputations unharmed.
Provided crisis communications counsel to a company in the wake of a significant cyber-security breach that targeted its entertainment industry clients, ultimately helping the company preserve its customer base.
Represented a number of high-net-worth and celebrity clients in their public and contentious divorces, serving as a strategic advisor and spokesperson across business, entertainment, and tabloid publications and outlets.
Counseled a number of companies and organizations, as well as their executives and co-founders, facing allegations of toxic workplace environment, gender discrimination, and/or systemic racism by working through the issues, helping to determine a path to address them, responding to resulting litigation, and communicating to key audiences through the process.
Worked at a client in a regulated industry to operate as a liaison among corporate affairs, government relations, regulatory relations and the legal team to ensure consistent and effective messages across all stakeholders during ongoing criminal and regulatory investigations stemming from a fatal, operational disaster.
Provided advice, counsel, and execution to the CEO and leadership of an institution undergoing transformative change to its culture and operating model. Assisted with the rollout of a number of high-stake, sensitive communications to de-escalate issues and prevent triggering any crises, mitigating the overall risk to the organization and its executive team.
Provided on-the-ground counsel and support for a corporate brand that had one of its locations become the site of a mass shooting with multiple fatalities, ultimately preserving the corporate brand and the location’s business without a single lawsuit filed.
Worked directly with a C-level executive as he planned for and transitioned out of the company, effectively mitigating rumors and speculation internally and externally about the rationale for his departure.
Advised the Board of Directors at a non-profit organization upon discovering the CEO had embezzled a significant amount of assets from the organization. Worked with the Board to identify the actions it needed to take, as well as how to communicate the news to key stakeholders, including donors, successfully containing the news and preserving the organization’s existence.
